If you’re looking for a new way to strengthen your community involvement, ask your local REALTOR® association to consider a partnership with Move for Hunger. This nationwide, non-profit organization helps local food pantries get unopened, non-perishable food through cooperation of local real estate professionals, home sellers and moving companies.
Move for Hunger directly benefits the communities where the sellers live. Food that would be thrown away in a move is donated to local food pantries.
REALTORS® play an important role when they inform sellers about how they can easily donate non-perishable and unopened food items to charity. Local associations that partner with Move for Hunger help facilitate donations in a unique way, although IAR members have traditionally supported charities in the communities where they work.
