Morning Minute: Is your home in a high risk area for natural disasters?

RealtyTrac’s 2015 U.S. Natural Disaster Housing Risk Report highlights areas of the country where homeowners are at greater risk of experiencing natural hazards, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, etc.

The report estimates that 43 percent of U.S. homes are in counties with high natural disaster risks and the states with the highest risks are along the east and west coasts. Good news for Illinois homeowners, the majority of the state is low risk, according to RealtyTrac’s interactive map.
