A multitude of Illinois REALTORS® are arriving in San Diego for the annual National Association of REALTORS®’ Conference & Expo.

Some meetings began Wednesday, and the event extends through Monday. Already, Thursday, REALTORS® were hard at work. Former IAR president Phil Chiles joined a crew of REALTORS® building a house for Habitat for Humanity.

Each year NAR sponsors a build for the charity that encourages and promotes homeownership, and each year Chiles takes part in the build. He’s long been active with Habitat for Humanity, and during his year as IAR president he oversaw the construction of three Habitat homes in Illinois.

IAR members will take part in a multitude of governance meetings over the next few days. Many play key roles on committees that set the national association’s policies.
