The late husband of Linda Green, executive vice president of the Champaign County Association of REALTORS®, is one of more than 200 late veterans who are being honored at the Illinois State Capitol now through Independence Day (July 4).
Petty Officer Stephen L. Green, who died in 2015, is remembered via a photo and a written description of his service in the U.S. Navy. Both the photo and description are displayed on the Illinois State Capitol Wall of Remembrance display in the State Capitol Rotunda. A Vietnam veteran, Green received a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars, a Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device (1960-), an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and a Navy Achievement Medal.
