Illinois REALTORS® reached a key benchmark this weekend in responding to the National Association of REALTORS® Call for Action on the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act.

More than 20 percent if the association’s members took part in the Call for Action on HR3700, which would streamline the condo approval process through the Federal Housing Administration. In fact, the tally shows that we are at 20.46 percent as of Monday morning.

But why stop there? If you haven’t done so, login and answer the call.

Responding to Calls for Action is a key benchmark for local and state associations, and shows the power that REALTORS® have in shaping the industry to best serve members and their clients.

H.R. 3700 will:

  • remove a burdensome and expensive FHA Condo approval process;
  • reduce FHA restrictions on the number of condos available to homebuyers; and
  • permanently streamline Rural Housing Service loan processing.

Last year, NAR testified in support of H.R. 3700 before the U.S. House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. The U.S. House of Representatives passed it unanimously, 427-0.
