The Champaign County Association of REALTORS® presented 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club of Champaign last week.
“We were very pleased to donate 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to assist students in need as they start the new school year,” said Stefanie Pratt, president of the Champaign County Association of REALTORS®. “Building strong communities is an important part of the mission of the REALTOR® association, and we want to contribute in a meaningful way by offering children resources to further their education. We see this as the start of a long-term volunteering and mentoring program between our members and the Boys and Girls Club.”
The Champaign initiative is part of a national partnership between the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and the Boys and Girls Club of America. The NAR is encouraging local and state REALTOR® associations to volunteer and offer resources and assistance to local clubs. More than 4,100 Boys and Girls Clubs serve nearly four million young people through club membership and community outreach nationwide.
