Former Illinois REALTORS® President Phil Chiles attended his last meeting as a trustee for Capital Township on Monday.

Chiles, who won two terms on the Sangamon County township’s board, was presented a plaque for his service. The township’s trustees, among other functions, oversee financial assistance provided to residents and set tax levies.

Chiles was 2014 Illinois REALTORS® president, and has long had an interest in Sangamon County politics.

Chiles, a Springfield REALTOR®, will serve on the association’s Nominating Committee for 2017.
