Opportunity Races: Reelect Rep. McAuliffe and Rep. Jesiel

In the Nov. 8 general election, the Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Trustees encourage you to vote for two incumbents, state Rep. Mike McAuliffe in the 20th House District and Rep. Sheri Jesiel in the 61st House District.

McAuliffe and Jesiel have been identified by their local associations and by RPAC as REALTOR® champions. In other words, they are pro-business, pro-private property rights, low tax and pro-growth candidates. Their bids to get elected are termed Opportunity Races.

McAuliffe, a lifelong resident of the northwest Chicago area, was elected as state representative of House District 14 in 1996 and was reelected in 1998 and 2000. In 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014 he was elected state representative of House District 20.

  • Appropriations – Public Safety;

  • Public Utilities;

In July 2014, Jesiel took over for retiring State Rep. JoAnn D. Osmond. She is one of only two certified public accountants to serve in the Illinois General Assembly. She has experience in small business, corporate headquarters and nonprofit organizations. She is a business manager and accountant in addition to her work as a full-time legislator.

Jesiel, a lifelong resident of the Zion-Wintrop Harbor area, serves on the following committees:

  • Appropriations – Human Services;
  • Appropriations – Public Safety;
  • Elementary Secondary Education School Curriculum Policies;
  • Human Services;
  • Juvenile Justice & System-Involved;

If either McAuliffe and Jesiel are on your ballot, make sure you’re registered to vote and cast your ballot for one of these candidates on Nov. 8.
