Morning Minute: Sales of new homes increased in September

constructionIn September, sales of newly constructed homes rose 3.1 percent compared to the month before, a gain that was higher than economists were expecting,  Reuters reports today in the article, “U.S. new home sales unexpectedly rise in September.”

Sales were 29.8 percent higher than a year ago at this time. Also read the MarketWatch article, “New-home sales reach second-highest level of recovery.”
