The Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Trustees want you to vote for State Rep. Dwight Kay for the 112th House District and State Rep. John Bradley for the 117th House District in the Nov. 8 general election.
Kay and Bradley have been identified by their local associations and by RPAC as REALTOR® champions. In other words, they are for business, private property rights, low taxes and economic growth. Their bids to get elected are termed Opportunity Races.
Kay is a lifelong resident of the Metro East area and is in his second term as the state representative of the 112th District. He is vice president of Cassens Transport, a company he’s worked for since 1970.
In 2004, Kay served as finance chairman for Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier. In 2006, he was campaign chairman for Illinois Appellate Court Justice Stephen McGlynn. At one time, he was chairman of the National Automobile Transporters Association Claims Council.
Kay serves on the following committees:
- Appropriations – Public Safety;
- Economic Development;
- Labor & Commerce;
- Workers’ Compensation Subcommittee; and
- Sex Offenses Subcommittee.
Kay also is on the Governor’s Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board.
Bradley has served as the State Rep. of the 117th House District since June 2003. He was reelected in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014.
Bradley is an attorney and formerly served as a member of the Williamson County Airport Authority.
He is the assistant majority leader of the Illinois House. He currently serves on the following committees:
- Agriculture & Conservation;
- Judiciary – Civil;
- Labor & Commerce;
- Revenue & Finance (chairperson);
- Finance Subcommittee (sub-chairperson);
- Income Tax Subcommittee (sub-chairperson);
- Property Tax Subcommittee;
- Sales and Other Taxes Subcommittee (sub-chairperson);
- Towing Oversight Subcommittee (sub-chairperson);
- General Law Subcommittee;
- House Budget Oversight Panel;
- Coal Finance Subcommittee (sub-chairperson); and
- Public Private Partnerships.
If either Kay or Bradley are on your ballot, make sure you’re registered and vote for one of these candidates on Nov. 8.
