Illinois REALTORS® can login and read this week’s State Capitol Report for a quick recap of the final days of Illinois’ 99th General Assembly and the opening days of the 100th General Assembly, including the return of four incumbent REALTORS® and the introduction of one newcomer.
The incumbent REALTORS® include: State Sen. Bill Brady (44th Senate District), Rep. Sam Yingling (62nd House District), Rep. Keith Sommer (88th) and Rep. Mark Batinick (97th). Rep. Tony McCombie (71st) is the latest REALTOR® to be elected to the General Assembly.
Brady is the co-founder and owner of: RE/MAX Choice in Champaign and Bloomington; RE/MAX 1st Choice in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Brady Property Management; True Clean Restoration; and Illinois Title Group. Also, he is the co-founder of Brady Realtors in Clinton and Lincoln as well as Brady Homes. He has served as the senator of the 44th District since 2002. He ran unopposed in 2016.
Sommer first served as a representative for District 89 in 1998 and was reelected in 2000. He won five consecutive terms as representative for District 106, then won three consecutive terms for District 88.
Yingling is part of a family owned business, New Century Real Estate in Round Lake. He began serving his district in 2012 and won reelection in 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, he served as Avon Township supervisor in Lake County.
Batinick was first elected to represent the 97th District in 2014 and won reelection in November 2016 when he ran unopposed. He is a broker associate for RE/MAX Professionals Select in Naperville.
McCombie is a broker for Mel Foster Co. in Savanna and the owner of Blue Appraisals, LLC, a real estate company that serves clients in Illinois and Iowa. She has been the mayor of Savanna, a small town in northwestern Illinois along the Mississippi River. Prior to that, she served on the Savanna City Council.
