Many non-homeowners believe in home ownership, but questions about affordability, student debt loads and down payments are keeping many on the sidelines, according to a new report, “Aspiring Home Buyers Profile,” from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
The NAR survey found that 80 percent of non-homeowners view owning a home as part of their American Dream, but affordability is an issue, particularly among those with student debt. The survey also found that many non-homeowners overestimate how much of a down payment they would need to buy a home. Read more from NAR and find highlights from the report.
