In Peoria, REALTOR® Zach Oyler gathered the most votes in a six-way primary race for two unexpired at-large positions on the Peoria City Council, according to figures from the Peoria County Election Commission.
Oyler and three other aldermanic candidates advanced to the April 4 election. He received 3,248 votes, followed by John Kelly (3,167), Sid Ruckriegel (3,128) and Amr Elsamny (1,979). They are competing for two positions.
Oyler received independent expenditure support from Illinois REALTORS®. Independent expenditure activities take place in support of a candidate for public office without any coordination with the candidate or the candidate’s campaign.
Oyler serves real estate customers through Keller Williams Premier Realty in Peoria. He serves on the board of trustees for the Peoria Historical Society and is the interim executive director of that organization. In 2014, he lost a bid for a spot on the Peoria County Board.
