Desirée Rogers, business leader, Chairman of the Chicago Tourism Bureau, and former Special Assistant and White House Social Secretary for President Barack Obama, will speak on Saturday, Nov. 4, during the REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Chicago. Rogers is the second of four entrepreneurs outside the real estate industry who’ll share ideas REALTORS® can use to enhance their businesses during the Spotlight Series.
Rogers’ resume also includes: Illinois State Lottery director; chief marketing officer for Peoples Energy; president of Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas; president of social networking for Allstate; CEO for Johnson Publishing Company, overseeing publication of Ebony and Jet magazines; and CEO for Fashion Fair Cosmetics.
She’s served on many civic and corporate boards, including Northwestern Hospital, the Museum of Science and Industry, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. She’s been honored as one of Crain’s “Top 25 Women to Watch,” and “40 Under 40 Business Leaders.” Black Enterprise magazine named her to its “Top 50 Most Powerful African American Business Women” and its “Top 75 Most Powerful Blacks in Corporate America.”
The first speaker is the Spotlight Series is American author and international business expert Erin Meyer, who presents on Friday, Nov. 3.
