The primary focus for the funds raised will be continuing efforts to protect and enhance Scott Air Force Base.  IAR, RASI, and GGAR join many of the area’s largest companies to ensure decision makers know the value SAFB to the region and the cooperative spirit to ensure the base remains a vital component of military operations.
Scott Air Force Base provide an annual economic of over $3 billion dollars including a large housing impact in our area. It is one of the largest employers in the metro area and is a reason for much of the commercial growth in the surrounding communities.
The base will come under review through the Base Realignment and Closure process, which evaluates military installations and makes recommendations on closures and consolidations. IAR donated $100,000 toward the fight to keep the base open, and GGAR and RASI each donated $50,000.
