IAR Fun Fact:

Why did REALTORS® at the time decide to form a statewide association?

Some of the main reasons:

  • A growing concern over rising property taxes
  • Adoption of a tax amendment in Illinois
  • Enforcement of the Code of Ethics
  • Promotion of good roads
  • Desire to create a license law
  • Securing legislation requiring an exam for those entering the real estate professional and payment of a fee
