VIDEO: RPAC Hall of Fame and Illinois REALTOR® of the Year ceremonies

At this week’s June business meetings, Illinois REALTORS® honored several of its members in two ceremonies.

Monday, eight REALTORS® were inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame for attaining a lifetime giving level of $25,000. Six additional RPAC Hall of Fame inductees achieved $50,000 in lifetime giving. Additionally, Illinois REALTORS® CEO Gary Clayton was honored for achieving the $75,000 threshold.

Tuesday night was the Illinois REALTOR® of the Year banquet at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Sue Miller, Managing Broker of Coldwell Banker-the Real Estate Group in McHenry, Illinois, was named Illinois REALTOR® of the Year. Along with Miller, 24 other REALTORS® of the Year from local associations throughout Illinois were recognized.

Illinois REALTORS® headed for the June Business Meetings next week at the President Abraham Lincoln Springfield DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel can review the online schedule.

Tuesday’s sessions include the:

  • Board Leadership Forum,
  • Commercial-Industrial-Investment Committee,
  • Professional Standards Committee,
  • Bicentennial Task Force,
  • Professional Development Major Investors Group (MIG) and
  • Public Policy & Government Affairs MIG.

The final event of the day is the REALTOR® of the Year Banquet at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. The guest of honor will be Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Sue Miller, managing broker for Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, in McHenry. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m.

Wednesday’s sessions include the Board of Directors Meeting and the Future Leaders Workshop.

 

On June 6, ROTYs from Peotone, Rockford and Oak Park areas will be recognized

Among the 24 local REALTORS® who’ll be honored at the 36th Annual REALTOR® of the Year Banquet will be Jim Sim, Brad Shields and Alice McMahon.

The event will attract members from all over the state to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield on June 6. The guest of honor will be Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Sue Miller, managing broker for Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, in McHenry. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m.

Here are some details about the three local honorees mentioned above:

Jim Sim of Oak Leaf Realty in Peotone will represent the Three Rivers Association of REALTORS®. This RPAC Major Investor served as Three Rivers President, local Government Affairs chair, and on many local and state committees. Sim is active with the Illinois St. Andrew Society and president of the Midwest Pipe Band Association.

Brad Shields of Dickerson & Nieman in Rockford will represent the Rockford Area REALTORS®. Shields helped form Rockford Area’s award-winning YPN, served on Ethics & Arbitration Hearing Panel and Finance Committee. He’s a board director, volunteered for Rock the Block Beautification Project on Broadway, and coaches/sponsors youth baseball and basketball.

Alice McMahon of Reichert Realtors® – Nickel Group in Oak Park will represent the Oak Park Area Association of REALTORS®. A director since 2013, McMahon has served on the Pro Standards Committee since 2004. This REALTOR® Emeritus volunteers for the Economy Shop, supports the Infant Welfare Society and chairs Oak Park’s Special Events Task Force.

The event will attract members from all over the state to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield on June 6. The guest of honor will be Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Sue Miller, managing broker for Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, in McHenry. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m. The deadline for ordering tickets is midnight tonight. Tickets are $75 each.

Here are some details about the three local winners mentioned above:

Mark Coleman of Coleman Land Company in St. Charles will represent the REALTOR® Association of the Fox Valley. Coleman is Fox Valley’s president-elect. The managing broker and co-owner of Coleman Land Company is a Major Investor. He volunteers at the Garfield Farm Museum in Campton Hills and has supported the local Jaycees, the Tri-Cities Exchange Club and the Red Cross in the past.

Anne Sadler of Choice Realty in Freeport will represent the REALTOR® Association of Northwestern Illinois. She is the broker-owner of Choice Realty and is a continuing education and Pre-License instructor. Sadler has served on many RANWIL committees and was the 2015 MLS president. She serves on the Illinois REALTORS® Education Working Group and volunteers with the Freeport Chamber of Commerce, the Freeport Area Food Bank. She also supported the creation of a new Enterprise Zone to bring new construction back to the Freeport area.

Julie Heltne of RE/MAX Signature Properties in O’Fallon will represent the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois. Heltne has served on the RASI Board of Directors for several years. Also, she has served as chair of the Awards Task Force for several years and her creative flair has helped expand the reach of REALTOR® After Hours programming.

Rebekah Carlson of Next Realty, LLC in Skokie will represent the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of REALTORS® (NICAR). Carlson is the NICAR secretary and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. She’s a founding member for Save-A-Pet’s Real Estate to the Rescue Golf Outing, which raised $30,000 for a no-kill shelter in 2016.

Michelle Largent of RE/MAX Traders Unlimited in Peoria is the ROTY for the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS®. A past member of the Peoria Area’s board of directors, she’s also worked on many committees and volunteered for the Germantown Hills Village Board and Girl Scouts. An RPAC Major Investor, she supports the South Side Mission and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Regen Johnson of Ruhl & Ruhl REALTORS® in Davenport, Iowa will represent the Quad City Area REALTOR® Association. She has served on numerous committees for the local association. She’s a member of the board of directors and the 2017 secretary/treasurer. In the community, she volunteers with the Junior League, Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and local schools. She also serves as a mentor to new agents.
