3 ways successful REALTORS® use Big Data to get jump on competitors

April 2017

Leading REALTORS® use Big Data to stay ahead of the competition, and now they share their strategies in the cover story of the April edition of Illinois REALTOR® magazine. In “Awash in Big Data: Strategies to Chart Your Course,” REALTORS® and market experts share ideas that can help individuals and brokerages:

  • Develop tools using MLS data which are more accurate than Zillow Zestimate;
  • Develop property specific reports that predict cost of living within a specific ZIP code; and
  • Save money by geo-targeting potential clients and predicting more accurate returns on investment.

Womack shows how technology can step up your game

Sign up today for the Nov. 4 Xplode Conference in Hoffman Estates and you’ll learn how Bryson Womack teaches real estate pros to use technology to improve their businesses.

Womack oversees sales for two tech companies, IDX Broker and Agent Evolution, and he’s been a part of the Xplode Conferences for three years helping participants get the most out of MLS software and their own websites. And he’s just one of a dozen speakers scheduled for this year’s conference in the Chicago area.

Bryson Womack

His expertise is one of many reasons why IAR is sponsoring the Xplode Conference with the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS®. See the list of other speakers.

The conference begins at 8 a.m. at the Stonegate Conference Centre, 2401 W. Higgins Rd. in Hoffman Estates, and lasts until 4 p.m.

Early-bird rates of $49 will last until Oct. 10. After that, the price goes up to $69.

REALTOR® actions needed to reform communication law

Illinois REALTORS® can support needed updates to the state communications law by sending an email to their state legislators and sharing information with friends through Facebook.

As mentioned in this blog last week, IAR has joined a coalition named the Illinois Partnership for the New Economy and Jobs that seeks changes to Illinois’ communication law that would help make the state more competitive, better meet consumer demand and create jobs.  More than 240 organizations have joined the coalition that wants to bring laws into the 21st century.

“Our organization is supporting an update to the state’s expiring communications law in 2015,” says a representative of the Illinois Partnership. “Please help us update the law by sending a quick message today.  Visit www.UpdateTheIllinoisLaw.com. These steps will make a big difference to update the Illinois communications law.”

The coalition lists five reasons Illinois needs to update the communication law now:

  1. Modern communications networks help schools, families, businesses, individuals and public safety responders.
  2. Surrounding states have already updated laws to promote investment in modern networks.
  3. Investment in modern communications networks creates jobs.
  4. Create Illinois jobs without taxpayer money.
  5. Delay puts Illinois further behind.
