Order tickets now for the 36th Annual REALTOR® of the Year Banquet, scheduled for June 6 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield.

The event will honor the accomplishments of 24 local association REALTORS® of the Year (ROTY) and the Illinois REALTOR® of the Year Sue Miller, managing broker for Coldwell Banker The Real Estate Group, in McHenry. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m. The deadline for ordering tickets is May 30. Tickets are $75 each.

Among those being honored are:

Dan Slagell of RE/MAX Choice, Bloomington is being honored by the Bloomington-Normal Association of REALTORS®. He’s served as a member of REALTOR® Land Institute, a state committee member and for many years on several local committees. He holds Certified Agent Real Estate Investor (CARI) and Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designations.

Michael Oldenettel of RE/MAX Professionals, Springfield will represent the Capital Area REALTORS®. He is an RPAC Hall of Famer, has served as Illinois REALTORS® 2013 president and Jacksonville Area Association of REALTORS® president. He serves as a Capital Area and NAR director and on local, state and national committees.

Mac Boyd of Farmers National Company, Arcola, is ROTY for the Central Illinois Board of REALTORS®. Boyd, who died last December, was an RPAC Hall of Famer, three-time chair of Illinois REALTORS® Political Fundraising Committee, member of the association’s board of directors and chair of the Professional Standards Committee. He was known for his encyclopedic knowledge of Illinois farmland.

The banquet is jointly sponsored by the Illinois REALTORS® and the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF).

 

McHenry County REALTOR® of the Year – Jackie Kaufmann

Congratulations to Jackie Kaufmann, an agent with Prudential First in Woodstock, who has been recognized as the 2012 REALTOR® of the Year by the McHenry County Association of REALTORS® (McHCAR).

Kaufmann has been supportive of her local association in many ways. She has chaired and been a member of McHCAR’s Technology and Public Relations committees. She is a director on McHCAR’s Board of Directors and has assisted the association in numerous events including presenting at the PowerPath series, Technology Lunch & Learn, and quarterly technology mixers. Kaufmann has also represented McHCAR at several public expos, the association’s Property Assessment Seminars and the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Convention.

Peoria Area REALTOR® of the Year – Laura Martin

Congratulations to Laura Martin, of RE/MAX Unlimited in Peoria, who has been recognized as the 2012 REALTOR® of the Year by the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR).

Since 1970, the award has been given to a PAAR member that has made outstanding contributions to the real estate profession and to the local and state associations.  Martin is currently the president of the PAAR Board of Directors. She has been instrumental in a number of PAAR committees including governmental affairs, lockbox task force, finance, MLS, grievance, awards and recognition, and technology, to name a few.  She has also been actively involved in various committees at the Illinois Association of REALTORS®.

Mainstreet REALTOR® of the Year – Christine Chase

Christine Chase

Congratulations to Christine Chase, of Aurora, who has been recognized as the 2012 REALTOR® of the Year by the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® (MORe).

Chase is vice president of career development and relocation services for Realty Executives Premiere in Wheaton.  She has been involved in real estate sales, management and training since 1988, and during her career she has helped more than 800 families with their real estate needs.

Chase’s leadership role in the real estate industry has also been extensive. She has served on the Illinois Association of REALTORS®’ Board of Directors, as governor of the Real Estate Institute and as past president of the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS®.

In addition to her work in the real estate industry, Chase has also dedicated herself to her community. She has served as past director of the Aurora YWCA, as a volunteer-in-training with Kane County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and as an elementary school reading volunteer at various public and private schools.
